A friend of mine at work needs some .144 dia. pellets. Does anyone here cast them or know of where they can be bought? Kevin

.144 or .177? .177 is far more common.
Some very early daisy BB guns used smaller lead shot, I believe #4. I don't recall the name of the little daisy air pistol, but it was an all metal affair made in the 1930's or earlier.
For pellets in .177 almost any sporting goods store will sell them. For .144, I have literally never seen them. #2 lead shot should be .148, and might be close enough to work.

It was the Daisy Targeteer.

Never heard of .144 guns or ammo.

I think it is a typo cuz 4 is right below 7. The smallest I have ever seen is 4MM (.1575) and that was for a Parlor Rifle.

Yup, that's the one! And it was #6 shot, not the #4 that I thought it was.
Assuming that the caliber specified is .177 then I highly recommend buying the pellets. I have an airgun pellet mold, and it takes a lot of time to make 100 pellets. Compared to the price of purchase at less than $.01 each, I buy instead of casting. As I said, any sporting goods store will sell the pellets, and almost any big box store will as well.

The next time I see the guy I will get the guns manufacture. He was adamant that it was .144. He said it was a European manufacture. Kevin

I got back to the guy. He had made contact with a distributer for one of the pellet manufacturer. The salesman tested the rifle. He got the .177 to go into the chamber. The dia. must be small enough not to let some .177 pellets enter. Thank ALL for your insite.

Glad to hear it all worked out.
