does anyone here have one of these they load for? I recently got one and will be loading my own for it, any advice would be greatly appreciated, got some starter info but always looking for more. specifically with using a 70 grain sierra blitzking with the polymer tip.

Many years ago, Handloader magazine had a couple of articles about loading for the little carbine. You might check with them. Most articles did mention that chambers were generously cut.

I remember when they came out.

Most people seemed to think it was a solution in search of a problem.

I only actually saw one of them in "real life".
It was a Ruger Single Action "Revolver" with only one chamber in the cylinder.
If I remember correctly, it was called the Hawk-Eye.

It was very accurate at long range - That was with jacketed bullets.

In 1996 I delivered one of these Marlins for a friend to him in New Zealand while down there on a hunting trip. He'd left it behind in Calif before he moved- checking it over carefully, I noted it had been changed a bit- he'd had the darn thing rebored to 35cal and converted it to 357Mag! It shot ok, but I couldn't get over the "modern gun lever gun" styling- I'm glad he enjoyed it- he ended up trading it for a Suzuki dirtbike down there, which was worth a lot more to him than the butchered Marlin was-

There was one at one of the local pawn shops here about a year ago?, I don't recall the asking price now?, I thought it was a little high?, but guess it was fair??, it was missing the magazine, Numrich has/had? them in stock for a reasonable $, Bubba had been at the screws!, and the kicker for me was that they wanted MORE! for the couple of boxes of brass and loaded ammo than I could get new REDDING forming dies and 357 brass for from Midway!??, I passed the info along to one of the guys over on MO who is local here, I don't know if he picked it up or not?, it disapeared?

One or more? of my old manuals shows load info for the 256, I'm not at home this weekend but can relay some info later?

using a 70 grain sierra blitzking with the polymer tip.

Not the Bltzking, but,
Per Lyman #45
Marlin 62, 24" barrel, 1-14 twist
Winchester case
Remington 6 1/2 Primer
the Sierra 75grn HP
2400 12.0-2169, 14.0-2469
4227 14.0-2252, 16.0*-2557
4198 14.0-1912, 16.0*-2262
BLC2 19.0-1901, 21.0*-2136
H335 19.0-1992, 21.0*-2237
* compressed powder charge
NOTE: Many of the rifles chambered for this cartridge have slightly oversize chambers which create a problem for the reloader. These chambers cause excessive case stretching which makes it impossible to resize brass after two or three firings.

I've heard that about the chambers, that's probably a contributing factor to why this little cartridge never took off.
thanks for the info, I'll start with this data and work up a load.
