I have a para 1640 .since day one it will not shoot 140 gr. cast tc from Missouri bullet co. I sent it back to para . it still 3 point jams. it will shoot 175 gr. tc that I cast myself. I just bought a sti uspsa single stack .40 .it shoots them fine. I also have a springfield xd .40 that shoots them fine .other than that the para works fine .the 140 gr.is cheaper to load and a little less recoil. 1911 guys any ideas ? I have polished the ramp and tuned the extracter .it didn't help

Experiment with different seating depths. If you can get them to seat at the same length as the rounds that feed well, that may solve your problem.

Hope this helps.

Bullet weight may also come into play. 140 grains may be too light to generate the necessary recoil force to compress the main spring. Going to a lighter spring brings the problem of using loading accidentally loading a too heavy bullet and risking possible damage to the firearm. Granted, the 140 grainers are lighter and easier on the shooter but you have to be aware of the limitations of the gun.

I had the exact same problem with 200 gr SWC's in my Glock 21. The tip of the bullet, the edge of the bullet and the bottom of the case would all come in contact at the exact same time. Changing the OAL fixed the problem.
