I just got it in the mail, I ordered it from Midway with a mold for my Krag and some other stuff. About a year of so ago I borrowed a friends copy and could have sworn that it had load info for Lee molds, specifically the REAL type bullet. Well I got mine in the mail today and it has no information about Lee anything. Am I just getting senile or what? I kind of remember picking the 300 grain Lee mold after reviewing the information in the book. I guess when you get to be my age the memory is the first thing to go huh???

The new Lyman cast manual #4 has loads for Lee cast bullets. I don't know about REALS though but I can check.

Anyhow, It's a great reference book for load info and lots of good reading! It's nice to compare RB's against conicals and the different powder choices.

Fadala's data in #2 for .50 caliber 8" barrel is off bunches for RS loads in my Plains Pistol. His P loads are a tad higher velocity vs my data but are ok. He used .495" RBs and .010" patches whereas I used .490" RBs and .015" patches. That shouldn't make such a difference in the data, however.

My RS .490" RB rounds Chronyed 30% less than his and with 30% ES. I'm talking one shot at 880 fps and the next at 580 fps. You can't shoot good groups with ESs like that. My Pyro P rounds were 5% less V than his and with low ESs and with good groups. "Good groups" means regular 1 3/4" 3-shot groups at 20 yards. The results of my shooting over my Chrony shows Pyro RS to be unsuitable in my 8" pistol barrel. Pyro P works fine. Wish I had some FFF!!!

I've never used anything but Goex and I've never fired any of the smokepoles over my chrony. Maybe I should. Mine are both .54 TC rifles.
