Before the lynch mob gathers, This is for plinking loads to get more brass.

I have an Uberti 1858 Remington Stainless C&B revolver with a R&D 45lc conversion.
The lands measure .430 and the groove diameter is either .452 or .454 (can't remember which)
So far I have only used cast and due to the deep rifling that will be what I mostly use.
My question is has anybody used jacketed in a C&B conversion, if so any harm in doing it?
I have seen 45LC FMJ for $20/50 locally while "Cowboy loads" with lead bullets are more than double that.
The ballistics on the FMJ is on par or actually lower than the original BP load of 35-40gr BP

Thoughts?

Before you do that check Starline's prices for brass. It is usually cheaper to just buy the brass and Starline makes good stuff.
