Nice. Say again - what weight are they?
Also, what moulds are those?

PPpastordon,

From left to right in the second pic.

Lyman 429650, 300grn. SWC GC

RCBS 44-245-SWC PB

RCBS 44-250-KT PB

Lyman 429667, 240grn. RNFP PB

These are my steel moulds for the 444 Marlin and soon to be Stainless Ruger Blackhawk in 44 Mag. WOOT

I also have Lee's 430-310grn. RNFP GC boolit.

I have a batch of 50 of the Lee 310grn. ready and 45 of the Lyman 300grn. boolits ready to go to the range tomorrow for testing with IMR4895 under the Lee's and H4198 under the Lyman's, need to get er done as deer season opens here in MI on the 15th of November. Going to give the crony and the shoulder a work out. hehe

I have shot the 240-250's but just for fun, no load development yet with them but they have all shot good so far with starting loads from the Lee and Lyman books, my largest group at 50 just plinking was about 4.5 inches and I had a little to do with that. hehe

Now it's time to get serious tho, got my first Doe permit ever and my regular antlered license so I'll be good for 2 deer as long as they cooperate. ;)

"RCBS 44-250-KT PB

Lyman 429667, 240grn. RNFP PB"

I have the 250-KT and like it a lot. Shoots great over a wide range of velocities. It is pleasantly boring in predictability.
I like the looks of the RNFP. How does it shoot?

So far the Lyman RNFP seems to shoot OK, I haven't done a load for it yet just loaded some up at the start point in my books and it shot around 2 to 4 inches with 4 different powders. Would still hit Bambi with no problem so I'm thinking 1 - 1 1/4" at 50 yds with a good load developed for them. Also gave my shooting buddy some to try in his 44 Mag and he put 10 rounds on a 8 1/2 by 11 peice of paper for the first time,he was happy as all get out over it, had to tell me all about it, he's 71 and a little shaky but he likes his weapons. :)

Working up loads for the 300 Lyman and the 310 Lee for deer season, tried IMR4895 and H4198 and it looks like H4198 is going to do the gob well. Start load with IMR4895 and the Lee 310 was around 1500 FPS and the H4198 was at 1800 FPS, worked up to 41grs of H4198 and I could cover the group with 1 1/8 X 1 1/2" at 50yds.

Looking like IMR4895 will max out around 1750 to 1800 FPS and I have 1 load yet to try at 42gns which the book calls max load and The H4198 still has a ways to go before I'm at max so I figure it should get to around 2050 to 2100 FPS in my rifle. Both are stout too. OUCH hehehehe
