I need to clean some boolits I bought from a commercial caster.

I want all of the lube off the boolit. What is a good solvent for this lube? The lube is blue and is just in the lube grooves. Not tumble lubed.

Thanks.

Put them in boiling water. The lube will melt and then float to the top. Remove from the heat and the lube will become solid. Touch them up with a bit of acetone and you should be good to go.

Pan of simmering water and a couple large squirts of Palmolive. Don't use SWMBO's pots, get a cheap one from the dollar store or thrift store.

I have removed the old dirty blue lube from many many hundreds of com slugs I got as scrap. I find just putting them in a glass container and totally covering them with laq thinner or acetone and letting them soak overnight, then swishing/shaking them around removes all the lube.

Then rinse in clean thinner and you have totally clean boolits.

I did this so I could powder coat them. Otherwise, just tumble lube them with LLA 45/45/10 mix without removing the old lube.
