Yes. just use good hulls like AA's or STS's.

I've cut down hulls and used roll and fold crimps on them. 3" hulls for 2.75" and 3.5" for 3" loads. I don't do this anymore as I keep several thousand new hulls on hand, but if you need to, then the answer is yes.

I plan to make a jig from 3/4" iron pipe which is a perfect fit to slide a hull into, so cut and turned to exact length should work just fine using a razor knife.

But sometimes Ive found, the work cutting cases off and sizing and priming
and primer cost is more than buying new primed cases for 20 cents each.
That way don't need big reloader setup just roll crimper in drill press.
And powder scale, seals, etc.Ed

PVC pipe works well also if you are careful. Use a sharp razor knife, easier to keep on track. May not be worth it for regular loads but is well worth it for BP.

Greetings, you could easily adapt this method that I use for cutting wads, short and sweet!

I use the jig that Ballistic Products sells to cut down 12 and 16 ga. It works like a charm. However for the money the homebrew methods above would probably be just as good and I think a little faster. It is a little slow, but one of the nice thing about the cutoff jig by BP is that you can disassemble loaded shells with it if you desire by cutting the crimp off in a very safe manner.
