Ok, I am wanting to reload some cast boolits for my 94, for hunting/plinking. Would like to use 150 gr w/o gc, will this work? Where can I find a mold? I have tried to research this, but am not having any luck finding the mold. Sorry if this has been asked before. Any load reccomendations? Thanks ahead of time.

I have been very happy with my RCBS 150gr. cowboy mould for the 30-30. (30-150-CM) Plain base, bore riding nose, big lube grooves. I use fast shotgun type powders for the 1200-1400 fps loads, rifle powders plus cream 'o' wheat for the 1700 - 1800 fps loads and paper patch it with more rifle powder for the full throttle loads. It works well for all of them. I see SAECO makes something similar but I have never used theirs.

I have a 94AE in the .44 Caliber. Works best with bullets sized to .431". I do use light to heavy bullets in it. For plinking Lee's 200 RF or 214 SWC are good choices.....I also use the Lyman 429215 (GC)....IMHO it is slightly more accurate. At 100 yards+ it becomes much more challenging. Frankly I get far better accuracy from a .444 Marlin with cast bullets than I ever could out of the 94....I have yet to ascertain why. In the .444 The heavier bullets are more accurate... the 429244 and the 429421 being hard to beat, as is the 429640. At 100 yards+ the 429215 isn't acceptably accurate.

Some boolits designed for the 32-20 (.311 diameter) make excellent plinkers for the 30-30 over a light charge of 2400, Universal or Unique. Plenty of velocity for plinking and small game.

+1 on TXGunNut's recommendation. I have had best accuracy using Lee 150 grain gas check and 8.0 grains Unique as a light plinker at around 1200 fps. The mold is cheap and the bullets are great.
