This is my first time here.

I was wondering if anyone had data/velocity info for 420gr. cast boolit for a 475 linebaugh over 8gr. of titegroup. I just sent a bullet through my chrony with a scoped 454 casul SRH so it doesn't work so well anymore. Thanks guys.

Hodgdon lists only a 385 gr. with Titegroup, 7.0 start, 11.0 max. Vel is 854 and 1,130 fps. 8" test barrel. I don't have any Titegroup, or I'd chrono some for you. My .475 shoots a heavy bullet almost as fast as a light one, so I'd bet around 900 fps. depending on barrel length. Have fun.

Has anyone tried trailboss in a 475Linebaugh,or know of a good place to find data for the 475 linebaugh. I have seen all the manuals from speer, hodgdon, hornady and sierra, but none of them list any heavy weight bullet loads esp. for reduced loads. I find a lot of data for
elephant stoppers but I have no elephants to shoot where I live.I know my 475 will shoot clear through a buffalo and raise a big cloud of dust on the other side with a 420 HC but I don't need all that power for the dirt on other side.

It's hard to hit what your aiming at with both eyes shut and your head out of the way.

I got this from a tech at Hodgdon: In a straight wall case: Mark the base of a seated projectile on your case. Fill the case to this level with Trailboss. This weight is your START load with Trailboss. Increase your load as normal, but never compress Trailboss, as it will dramatically increase the burn rate. I have had exceptional luck with Trail boss in .38 SPL., .44 Mag, and 50-70 Govt. Used correctly, it's a great powder.
