Has anyone tried this?
Paper patch slug like you do a boolit, then set it on a wad with the pedals cut off.

I paper patched the Lyman Foster slug using heavy grocery bag paper. Groups improved dramatically but I still got fliers and too many at that. I figured the rough hull or opening crimp was tearing the paper.

The Lyman slug casts at 0.705" though so much larger than the Lee at about 0.685" at the nose and closer to 0.670" at the skirt ~ they are tapered. That alone would make it difficult to patch to suit the bore.

Also, adding 0.045" of paper is a lot. I am sure it could be done using thick enough paper or lots of wraps but the taper might be a problem. Wouldn't hurt to try though and who knows?

I have to ask why when they fit standard shotcups pretty well? I like loading round balls and slugs into shotcups because it is easy and works pretty well for me.
