Are you talking about them going to zinc and iron? Not sure what you mean

yes, it seems like modern ww's are not the same! Not talking about zn, fe, or "plastic". They are changing the alloy to softer it seem like.

Now you will have to buy lead and alloys from the nice folks on here. Phoenix sells good mixes. Others have spot sells of lead, ww's, pewter, solder, etc.

Rotometals.com always has a good source of virtually any thing you want.
