I will be doing an article on loading the 22TCM cartridge and alternative projectiles.

I am looking for a few folks that have a 225107 or 225483 mold that would be willing to part with a few hundred projectiles from each or loan the mold out for a couple of months.

I would also be interested in learning about any other production or custom .224 based design that incorporates a short projectile in the under 45 grain category

Interesting project, I have been working on a decent die set for the 22 tcm and almost have it finished , I am making decent ammo but want to make the process a little smoother.

I have a group buy mold.

I figure most all of the gas checked 22 Hornet designs should work. However I do not cast anything for that. If any of you would be willing to sell me a couple hundred from your various molds, that should be enough to begin load development.

I was hoping someone would have a 225483, it looks very promising.

Hatch, is that from an old GB? or a recent one? The thread might have the projectile drawing

The firearm and a case of ammo have already come in a second case is supposed to be shipped to me. Dies are coming from Hornady.

heres a bullet fresh out of a new 225107 FN mold from NOE80587 NIce little mould pretty tricky to cat with it like to be hot!! and it doesnt hold its heat very well. finally shot 50 of my handloaded tcms without one FTF. I got 4 FTFs out of a box of factory so I am feeling pretty good about that!

I wish more folks had other 22 Hornet molds lying around.

Thank you

Anybody know what the pressures are for this little number? Maybe something has turned up in your research for the article? It is one of the details I want to know.

NEI has a 39 gr, .224-39-GC. I suspect you have a typo in the Lyman number. 225438 perhaps? a round-nosed, GC design? Lyman also shows a 225353 at 43 gr, but no GC there. Best o' luck and I look forward to seeing your writings.
cheers,
Douglas

Things are moving.

A 22TCM Target version, case of ammunition, extra brass and dies have all arrived. 2000 of the factory jacketed projectiles are due in next.

Soon it will be time to see what works in this little firecracker other than H110

Where did you get the dies? As soon as I get some that work on my progressive press I plan on shooting this a lot more

Where did you get the dies? As soon as I get some that work on my progressive press I plan on shooting this a lot moreTwo different manufacturers offered me dies for the project. What I have is pre-production. They are supposed to be shiping in a few weeks

What kind of problems were you having with the progressive. I will probably set this up on a Dillon 650 but I have a few others on hand if need be

I modified a set of 221` fireball dies and they ar just too short to work well on the DIllon 550B that I have. also I made a powder through expander die and the allignment is critical or it bulges the neck, Have not been able to get it to work properly without the expander either

I have a 225438 double cavity
Finding dies is the only reason I don't have a TCM sitting on the bench at home.
