I think I made my last post in the wrong place. I posted under "black powder cartridge". Please take a look under "some kind of Colt" and see if you can help me out with a neighbors muzzle loading pistol.

Can't go too much further with advice until you find out exactly what it is. Find out, then post the specifics here. They aren't hard to load and shoot- just a few important details like proper balls, preventing chain fire and proper cleaning. As you were advised over on the bp cartridge section- if it's an original Colt cap and ball revolver in decent shape- shooting it wouldn't be the best idea economically.
