Mitchell's has an add in the new "American Rifleman" for original M91/30 Russian sniper rifles with Original Serialized scopes for $799. Are these the real deal?

Thanks

Well it would be hard to PROVE otherwise but I don't deal with M/M anymore so....

Do a search on Mitchell's and you will find a lot of negative reviews. I have read lots of posts on other forums about Mitchell's and have formed a definite opinion about their guns. But I'll leave it up to you to decide.

I have a good friend that bought 2 guns from M/M...I asked him about them after he'd had them a while, shot them and had a chance to see what he had really bought...I was thinking of getting a Mauser....his advice was "Run Forest Run!!" Said he could have spent his money much more wisely.

From what I've seen they are not original, just standard 91/30 with a bent bolt and the scope added. I built myself one back when the original scopes and mounts were cheap. Maybe I'll see if I can sell mine for $799. I've got about $125 in it.

Go to Gunboards and look through the Sniper section, you'll find sources for real Mosin PU's. The supply is dwindling, but you can get the real deal for what you quote above or less, authentic refurb by military PU's matching scopes. Many times all numbers matching, ask me, I know:wink:
