Friend of mine take some pictures of me shooting the ipsc match..So i notice that amount of smoke is maybe little to much?!
I was shooting the lead boolits 138 grain (from MP.molds) lubed with my own lube 60%beeswax and 40% alox ,pushing the bullet with N320 at arround 920 fps...
Is this ok or i can get less smoke with some another lube recipe?

yes and yes.

It is OK.
You can get less with almost any other lube.

I have never used anything more than 50% beeswax. It smokes a lot but not like that.

Since you already have it, I suggest you try straight alox or 70/30 alox mineral spirits.
I use Xlox and although I know it is still there, I don't notice the smoke.

I dont think my black powder 45-70 smoke thaty much.
The smokless ones dont at all.
I shoot at 1400-1750 fps and have never seen any smoke

1lb bees wax
1lb lard
8oz STP

That is an amazing picture, give my compliments to your friend for the good clarity and color at such high shutter speed.

Having been an IDPA shooter in the past, the smoke can definitely be an issue, especially when the range is set up in a series of isolated, "U"-shaped pits and matches are held on calm, humid mornings.

If you want a conventional, grease-type lube that is virtually smoke free, doesn't foul the action and magazines of your automatic pistols any worse than copper-jacketed bullet loads do, and doesn't melt in hot weather, send me a private message and I'll walk you through two different recipes you can make yourself from ingredients you likely already have at home.

Another good choice would be TAC #1 lube sold by Randyrat on this forum. I think he ships worldwide.

You must be using a "democrat" pistol in that photo. Anything that is democrat always blows more smoke than other types.

I'll second Tac1. I have completely switched to it. You should be able to cut that smoke by at least a 2/3 or more. That is the Alox you are burning right now.

I can shoot over 500 rounds of 45acp with 231 in my 1911 and the barrel is still shiny. I will say the inside of the gun get greasy from the wax or oil or whatever is mixed with the beeswax. 231 is not a clean powder. So, the powder res. mixes with whatever the oil that creeps back. But it stays soft and is easy to clean. So it is actually a benefit because it keeps the powder res. soft and helps it clean up.

I kind of like it. When I shoot my new vaquero I could make it look like I was shooting BP.I ordered a few sticks of the NRA formula 50% alox and 50% beeswax to try to get this effect.
