hello guys
I'm wanting to load some 158 grain powder coated bullets for cheaper practice and messing around in my 35 whelen rifle but I have not been able to find any published loads. I have ar2206h(h4895) ar2205(h4227) alliant blue dot and ican steal / borrow some ar2207 (h4198) to try. Any suggestionswhere to start?
Thanks Stuart

My suggestion is to find some Bullseye and start at 4gr, work up until accuracy goes south. Probably best accuracy will be in the 850 - 1050 fps range. No filler or wad needed.

50gr of IMR4895 works well in my 35 whelen with 155gr HP's, it's a full tilt load for sure.

sorry I don't have any suggestions for a plinker load.

Have a look at this thread I started in july on the Whelen and pistol bullets:
http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?183082-35-Whelen-and-pistol-38-357-boolits

I had one accurate load at 50metres with the Lee 158RNFP, non-GC and 11.5grains Trail Boss. I think I was using far too much AP70N so will go back now I have a chrongraph and try something around 7.0grains. If I was going to buy powder I would probably go for a faster one like AS30N to get near Bullseye in burn rate, as per Larry Gibsons suggestion.
