Today was a sort of milestone for me and the M 94 Legendary Frontiersman. I have loaded Unique and other powders in this great cartridge with only limited successes, and then the Tenon broke under the forearm. I ordered one from a popular lever site and though I used the picture to select it still got the wrong one!? Any who, I took a couple of hours and fashioned one that seems to be working perfect for now. I loaded the 38-55 with some 375449 GC boolits without a GC, hand lubed them, put 21.0 grs. of SR 4759 in the case loaded them and went out to shoot. Started out @ 50 yards sitting on the Rhino, with my sand bag on the steering wheel. Shooting clay pigeons and busted them shot for shot. Moved back to 100 yards and repeated the same thing. I didn't shoot for a group, but what the heck, ain't no deer or hog safe at a 100 yards! Inset is a picture of the Western brass 2.125 loaded and the W-W 2.082 fired, there is so little difference in the length, and none in the function or performance!79696

I have used SR-4759 and Re-7 in my cast loads for 38-55 for longer than I can remember. Really does shrink groups; better than Preparation H.
