Anyone out there have a blank Lee mold for sale? I need a 6 cavity. Will settle for a 2 cavity. Need sprue plate and handles.

If you have the tools (mill, lathe, etc) to make a 6 hole mold from a blank, why not just get two pieces of aluminum bar, mill the faces, install a couple pins and.....there you go.....a blank mold!

That is the easy part. making the cutter and cutting the cav's EXACTLY right is the real task!

Good luck in your endeavor!

Do you have a source for alignment pins Banger? Also need a sprue plate and lever. Lee is currently out of stock.

Alignment pins are nothing but short pieces of drill rod. If you want the steel sockets, drill out larger drill rods for the sockets. Press everything in place with an arbor press B4 milling sides square.

Sprue plate is only a steel plate with small holes and the sprue tapers milled in with a (mabe home-made?) taper mill. I have several 90Degree (included angle) end mills that do that.

Check Youtube.....there several good vids about making molds from the scrap bin. Takes time but if pre-made not in stock and you cannot wait.........

Bottom line is........if Lee can make it.....so can we! :D

Try Titan reloading. The 6 cavity blank is out of stock, but they show the 2 cavity blank as in stock.

Thanks Mac. I ordered a 2 cav and got on email notification for the 6 when it becomes available. Gonna make up a core mold for 223 cores.

Glad you got what you needed. Titan is great to do business with - any time I need something Lee makes I get it from Titan.

For a core mold, I think a noe blank may be a tad costly. $20 from lee with handles included seems like the right price to me. Just drilling straight holes for cores for .224 swaged boolits. I'll be doing the same shortly for same reason.
