Anybody have any experience with the Rossi copies of S&W .22 revolvers? I don't know if they're the same as Taurus or not. Real S&W .22s are scarce as hen's teeth and twice as expensive. I'm happy enough with my Rossi copy of the Winchester 92 lever action but I don't know about jumping on a Rossi .22 revolver...

I do have one of these things. Mine has a lot of personality: it shoots wherever it wants to shoot, despite your efforts and good will. Pattern is similar to a scattergun's. I haven't cleaned mine in more than 10 years and have sentenced it to an ignoble death by rust and neglect.

Uh-oh. That isn't what I wanted to hear. Thanks for the information.

I had one of the .357 Rossi Smith copies and it was plenty accurate but had cylinder timing problems.

Rossi and Taurus were seperate companies but I am unsure of their current status. A lot of times with 22's ammo makes a huge difference. I would see if you could have a 3 day trial before I bit on one. Gianni

mine shot ok but it had a weak hammer spring causing missfires and the cylinder timing was off alot , i fixed the hammer spring and sold it to a friend who had to have it for $100.00 , it was the stainless version.

Buying on the internet makes that sort of impossible. It is a beautiful gun, looks exactly like the S&W Model 63. Everybody here panned the gun; reviews from other internet sources were mixed about 50-50 on it. That's enough for me, I'll pass it up. Sooner or later another .22 S&W is going to come through the little old gun shop here.

That's my take on the question, too. The J-frame S&W 22's aren't everyday sightings, but there are enough of them out there that a wait for one shouldn't be long.
