So I got a CETME, semi-auto .308 rifle. Most people know them as H&K G3, (clones) I took it to the range today and like any diligent reloader, went and collected my brass. Lo and behold this is what I find. Is there any suggestions on how I can fix this? I think these are beyond resizing, opinions? Anyone have this problem. The rounds shot were factory loads, Remington 168gr BT 79593

That is the nature of the beasts with fluted chambers. I reload them three times and then off to the recycler.

Gotcha, do you know if there is anyway to take the chamber down a bit? IE gunsmith filing... Looks like I'll be saving all my match brass for the Rem700!

I do not think you would want to monkey with the chamber.

the best way to cure it is back off your loads. The cetme wasnt designed to shoot pressures that comercial 308s run at. Do it long enough with commercial brass and youll tear the head off a case. Back off so that your shooting a 150 at about 2400 fps and youll cure alot of your troubles. I shot alot of cast in mine back in the day and ran 170s at about 1800 fps and my brass looked as good comming out of it as it did going in. For your own peace of mind those chamber marks dont really hurt anything. Case seperation and chasing brass ejected into the next county were my main reasons for backing off.

Absolutely normal, the gun has a fluted chamber to lower extraction friction. Just resize and
load and ignore. They hurt nothing beyond visuals.

If you decide to use lead boolits, they would work very well in your rifle as they have in several other like rifles using that brass you pictured.

Know your gun.
One reason for the last 40 years I haven't jumped to buy one.

All CETMEs & HKs do the same thing.
Thats what a tumbler is for :-)

Our 45/70 cases turn colors when using holy black, we just live with it

If you think it is a problem for you, then it will be a problem. I just normally resize, shoot, then neck size for my cast rounds..... the striations are not a problem! I've got at least ten reloads on mine, but i'm only shooting 32 cal pistol boolits with them.
