Anyone know what they call the screws, that are used on European firearms, that have only two small squares on the edge.
An odd spaner type screwdriver fits into the squares to turn it.
I need a trigger guarg screw for my Lebel.

Try asking in the want to buy section. Lots of guys have old military stocks sitting around, that one can be scavenged from.

Those are generically called spanner head screws. If nothing turns up in finding an original replacement, you could make one with some "sweat equity". Lathe would work best but can be done on a drill press or even with a hand held drill and files. The only "extra" item would be the die for the threads. You'd need the length, diameters and thread pitch- you could get that info from someone with a Lebel. The shallow holes on the edge of the head would be easy enough with a drill bit.

I have made some using a replaceable tip of the right width, cutting the center out with a Dremel tool and a diamond coated disc.

Spanner head screw. Makes sense to me.

I'll post in the wanted fourm.
Thanks
