I have one of these I purchased from an indiviual several years ago for a song and a dance. It has been shot very little and is in excellent condition.
I would like to use it to shoot "Junior's 30 cal. soupcan" have a bunch cast up as of yesterday.
anything special that I need to do before I start to shoot such as cleaning and/or whatever?
what powders and starting loads?

Some say to make sure you have all the copper out of
the barrel, and may be true for some guns, but I haven't
had any problems so far, but still watching out for it as
I try to learn from others.

Try 10.0 Unique and 16.0 of 2400 for starters, and make
sure you know what size your bore is by slugging it,
and size the bullets about .002" or even .003" greater
than the bore size to get best accy.
