Quick question about reaming. If you want to make say, .451" pills would you ream the bore of your die to .4510" or say a few tenths larger like .4515"?

Idealy ream undersize and polish lapp to final dimention. Is your 41xx?? Pre-hard or in a fully annealed state?

not sure what you are making, but if you are making some type of swaging die you will want to ream annealed 4140 type steel to about 0.004 under final ID, rough lap to about 0.002 under then heat treat, then lap/polish to final id
