i won this on ebay bid. Have you used one? Tricks to adjusting it?

This is not a seat die, this is a rcbs taper crimp seat die. Rcbs says: "it will not shave bullets when lite taper crimping".

Again: rcbs says," it seat first then taper crimps, thus not shaving the boolit".

Might work for you. I think its an "it all depends" situation. Depends on case wall thickness and boolit diameter. That die will still be closing down the case mouth while the boolit is moving into the case. Maybe for a shorter distance, but still...

I have a Lyman TC die and I still crimp as a separate step.

I caddie'ed on tour 75'/76'. You are a golfer?

NOW THIS GUY BELOW TOOK LEE FCD AND TAPPED A BULLET PUSH ROD THRU TOP. "I think the sleeve in fdc slide's upward and crimps and leaves the boolit in its original seat position. This one may work below cause of internal sliding sleeve which will lite crimp my nines at very top". Gonna make one @ machine shop.

I have a Lyman TC die and I still crimp as a separate step.

I also seat and crimp in two steps but I am going to guess he is trying to do both at the same time because he does not have enough stations to do both separately without going through the machine twice.

+1. I have Lyman and Redding taper crimp dies in the 4th station of my turret. Seat and crimp separated (even when I only used a single stage press).

My lee LM (seat-crimp) does works on my 45acp and does not shave. But I love this guys idea and i think i know how he did it after member said " he started with a Lee FCD". Then i see because of internal sliding sleeve. I love making stuff at machine shop with john on the CNC machine.

No rcbs 9mm one ready til winter but i did win a rcbs TCS die last nite on (for 45 only) ebay for 25$ to the door.
my llm:

These shoot fine in my xds45. A few of us are profecting the running of 9mm on Lee LM including primer mods and using different shell plate and i use a mrbulletfeeder.biz 9mm drop die. And i use coated bullets. I also use rcbs sizer-decapper and a step expander die instead of a bell expander. This lets mrbullet drop correct with no wobbles.

Sizing my coated on star.

I borrowed a friend's set of RCBS dies that are supposed to seat and then crip for loading H&G 68 TC bullets. The COL for these reloads have to be exact to properly chamber in a 1911.
I've been reloading for many decades and had the darn-est time with this RCBS die which did not apply a proper crimp - allowing the bullet to recede into the case using a single stage and Dillon 550B press.
Short answer - this RCBS seating & crimp die sucks.
Answer? Use the die to seat only and then the Lee Factory Carbide Crimp Die to crimp - Perfect Reloads!

yea, i seat with lee and crimp with dillon.

i am gonna make one like vid above for 9mm.

As far as 45acp the lee seat/crimp does work fine for xds.

I haven't had a shaving issue that would need that die (I bell the mouth just enough), but I do trust that rcbs did great engineering on the problem. With my five station press, I seat/crimp with Lee and then use a taper crimp (Lyman I think) for final stage. Using the nifty cartridge gauge has eliminated weirdness from my loads. I am interested in accuracy gains with that die though.

Yea, but were talkin about using the mrbullet drop die in station 4 and rcbs TCS die in 5.
WAS HOPING MORE WOULD CHIP IN THEIR IDEAS ABOUT RCBS TCS DIE. WE ALL ALREADY HAVE A SEAT DIE AND A CRIMP DIE.

That what this guy above in youtube did, he has a bullet drop die and his last station in classic turret seats and crimps not like a lee seat die even though he made it from a lee FCD. He pm'ed me couple times on youtube then quit. According to rcbs it seats before crimping.

Like i said above, i can see how youtube fcd works because it has a free sliding sleeve inside and that rod he put in seat bullet down thru floating sleeve first, then lite crimp for pistol plinkers. I think. hehehe

Have u ever seen inside of mr bullet (3 ball-bearings) drop die? Its incredible smart idea.
