View Full Version : .35 Remington Brass

I just got done checking the usual places for brass for my .35 Remington. It was not even listed most places that I checked. Heck at Natchez Shooters Supply, they said out of stock and will not be available in the future. Grafs didn't have it. Midway nothing, they even had some brass available for the .30 Gibbs and the .275 H&H Magnum. I'm not saying they shouldn't carry those, I'd just imagine there are a few more .35 Remington rifles floating around than rifles in .30 Gibbs.

Hopefully it's just focus on the popular brands until things level out. Makes me sorry that as it was living life as a loaner we didn't have a policy that when it comes back it comes back with the empties as well. Oh well, I'll find something to stuff the RD boolits I got from Carolina Cast into.

Check Buffalo Arms Co.

Just checked, they are out of stock, but at least they do list them, and it's OK to backorder.

Thanks for the info.

I'm trusting my memory, and my rememberer isn't what it used to be, but I think Remington announced last year they were discontinuing 35 Remington brass. Not sure but Hornady may still be making it. I have a small stash but not nearly what I would like to have.
Good Luck with your search,
Rick

Keep checking if you didn't backorder them. When I was searching for some I kept checking with BAC they had it back in stock pretty quick.

Saw several hundred "Remington" on the shelf tonight at the LGS, probably have enough "WW" on hand to last me the rest of my life??

I got WW 35 Rem brass from Huntington Die, oroville CA. They implied that if I wanted Rem brass I was going to have to buy about 250,000 piecs. I can't believe that Rem is going to stop loading 35 Rem.

Maybe someone will pick up and decide to start making it. Who knows? There's just way too much focus on coming out with something new that does almost the exact same thing that someone else already does.

Last I checked Winchester was still making it, RP apparently discontinued it last year before all this silliness started. Winchester works OK for me in this cartridge but I prefer RP. Right now even once-fired 22 LR brass is tough to find. Put it on your "wish list" at Midway and keep an eye on BACO.

I finally got a 35 Rem Marlin 336 and *NOW* there is no brass!!!! I see some people say you can run 308 brass into a 44 mag sizer and then a 35 Rem sizer and trim to length. I will have to try this but really would like some factory brass.

Wasn't there some on WTS a couple of weeks ago. It seemed like 1000 rounds.

Diamond K Brass (https://www.diamondkbrass.com) has once-fired 35 Remington brass: Remington headstamp.

$15 per 25

Seems expensive, but if you need it...

$15 per 25

At that price, I'dgo to dicks and buy the Hornady Leverevolution for $21.99, have 20 rounds to shoot and then have 20 "once fired" cases already fire formed to my chamber.

Just sayin...

What is BAC?

Buffalo Arms Company, good folks. Tons of moulds, dies, brass, custom tools and accessories. Awesome site, good folks. Dave Gullo likes the old guns but he keeps brass for some of the modern cartridges as well. He's not showing any now, but is accepting backorders for RP brass @ 66 cents each. Interesting.

Picked up 2 boxes of empty brass at the show last month for 4 bucks each, 32 at the range in the last 2 visits and someone on the other side of texas has I want to say 70 listed for 13 bucks. I just buy new as much as possible and shoot it out. Can get plenty of it at sporting goods stores in houston for about 25-28 per box.

I think most of mine will be limited to online purchases, I will end up, probably, ordering from Buffalo Arms Company. We have a couple of places that carry powder and primers, but not usually anything in the way of brass. I might take a trip down to Gander Mountain in Fayetteville, last time I was there they had reloading stuff, but I cannot remember anything about brass. Still worth a trip to look.

I lucked out today. Went to a flea market with my son in Lynchburg, Va (visiting) and found a guy with a plastic bin full of .35 rems, gave him $15 and when we got home, had over 400 empty cases, some of it looked new (no Primers, very shiny inside). Buddy next door said I should go buy some lottery tickets while my luck was still hot.

I've been buying 35 rem hornady leverevolution. I can shoot either RP or Hornady with the same POI and no pressure signs out of my 336. The LE ammo goes for $25-30 around here. Good Luck finding some.

I just read about converting 308 brass to 35 rem brass on this site. It is a little labor intensive but could keep you shooting for free.

ya know guys we have a sister site ABT, you can find pretty much whatever you want by trading, i got most of my 1x cases there.

I traded for a '60s 336 in .35 rem and found a couple of sources on here for 1x brass that were very reasonable. Then I traded 30-30 brass 1/1 with a local reloader. Then I bought 100 new RP loaded ammo for $0.35 @ locally. Took 7 month, but now I have plenty. Even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in a while.

I was looking for some 35 Remington a couple of years ago and found the same situation. As I recall, I either ordered it and had it backordered, or I signed up for one of those “Notify me when it’s in” offers on one of the online retailers. I believe it was Midsouth Shooter’s Supply, but it could have been Midway.

I think the manufacturers only make so much brass per year and when that runs out, you just have to wait until they do another run of that cartridge. Unless you’re needing the brass now, I’d wait a few months and see what happens.

I thought .22-250 was a step-child of the .308 Win?

If so, just use the link I posted earlier in the thread to reform .308...

The 22-250 is a necked down Savage 250.

I stand corrected...

06 Family...

The post I linked earlier would still apply, as you will need to turn down the base and rim no matter which family you use...

I'd still rather neck up a .308 to .35 than a .22...

I keep refering to my 'earlier post', and it is in a DIFFERENT thread...
