I have an Arisaka type 99. When I got it (Free) I looked at the trigger guard assembly and it was missing the back part (Lower Tang). I cannot find any other 99s that have a lower tang. Also I just ordered a type 99 last ditch stock from Numrich gun parts and it looks like it is set up for a separate lower tang too... It also didn't have the lower strap hole drilled, and a fixed recoil rectangle thingy. The stock is marked with "1995 K" and a japanese symbol that looks like a T and a Z smooshed together. Any Ideas?

Yeah, but I don't think the type 99 is supposed to have the lower tang... I think it's supposed to be attached to the trigger guard. Also trying to make sure the stock I just bought is right.

Ahh, got it. I had one that was cut off when sporterized, it looked like they were made as two pieces then welded together....I believe the tang should be there, so if you want it original, you'll probably have to buy the whole trigger guard. I think mine was under $20.
