Brother-in-law brought by yesterday for me to try and put a value on for his neighbor. It`s a semi auto straight clip fed .22 L.R. only that is marked 'Made in Canada". The odd thing about it is there is no safety on it as we now associate with a .22. The round op handle is pushed in on the slide to prevent it from firing. To fire the gun you must pull the op handle out of the notch and then it can be fired. It looks like a `60`s date of manufacture by appearance. I couldn`t find any reference of it in any of my reference books for Sears .22`s. I said it was worth about $75 since I had no way to compare it otherwise. Has anybody ever come across such a rifle in their dealings or have any idea who could have made it since it doesn`t remotely look like anything that a U.S. maker would have made.Robert

I think Cooey made a lot of .22's in Canada, but I am really just guessing here.

The Sears Model 6C (Canadian) = The Winchester/Cooey Model 64/64B

The Sears Model 6C (American) = The Winchester Model 490.

It is just an old fun to shoot 22. If the bore is clean and the blueing is ok I would think 75 to $100.00
