Today I picked up a new to me 375 h&h, which I didn't need, it isn't even a lever, even though it was a lefty.
I also picked up and paid a premium for a 15 horse boat motor for my canoe (which I did need before moose season).
Pretty much spent my allowance in my one day off, and some evil bitter person post this for sale 16 minutes ago, probably knowing I have been wanting one for some time. lol

If it makes you feel better, I bought one in the 80's. It was new. The only rifle I could not get to shoot well. Best it did was 2.5" to 3", and not even that consistently. It averaged 4.5" to 6" at 100 yds. Finally after several years of messing with it I let it go. It's a shame, it should have been one of the best.

I think I would take a chance on it shooting, if it doesn't sell in a few days I might just have to find out. lol

Bill not all that fast, canoes are not built for speed, but it will push a good load up a pretty strong current. I had an 8 horse last year and it just wasn't quite enough to suit me.

Looks like this may just work out, just working on the logistics. He can mail me the gun, but I want the old silvertip ammo too.
The wife doesn't know yet, but I know all about that, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission thing. lol

Seller is calling this a 1951 rifle. Hold on a second; Don't think the thumb safety came out in 51 and don't think .358 was around yet. I would look really carefully.

I know that, what I am after is the 358. I could care less when it came out or of the year of manufacturer. They are hard to come by.

I am not sure what year the 358 or the tang safety came out, but I am thinking it was later on, this one is earlier than the c model though as it has the rotary mag.

Good luck with your decisions starmac. It's rewarding to finally find what you're looking for after a lengthy search.

Well I missed it, between his work schedule and my screwed up schedule it just didn't work out and he sold it to a coworker.

With a 15hp motor, you ought to be able to accelerate up a waterfall.
