I would really like to put a ladder style sight on a 30-30 Marlin I just got. Can anyone recommend or give me some pointers on these sights. The primary use will be for playing around at the range where the longest shot possible is 400yards, and the occasional hunt where the longest shot would be 100yards.

I went to that site, went to the NEF/HR section and as soon as I clicked on the link, Norton told me that it had just blocked a 'malicious toolkit trojan attack'. Watch yourselves if you go there.

That Smith Enterprise sight looks perfect. I would prefer the non-buckhorn style. Where can I buy one? I went to Smith Enterprise's website but could find those sights listed.

I got mine from BACO, they are very good sights if you can get them

I got several from Brownells. If they don't have them in stock they'll put them on backorder and you'll get one eventually. I use the dovetailed one on my Browning B92 and the H&R one on my 38-55 single shot. Other than not having extremely fine graduations, they are just what you need for long range shooting with black powder velocity rounds.

I prefer the sight sold by Shiloh Sharps company for their 1874 Sharps rifle. I put one an a Rossi 1892 and it works extremely well. I believe it is cheaper than the Smith.

No clicks on the Shiloh sight. I mark my ladder in 100 yard increments and go from there. Works like a charm with a laser rangefinder. I also have a ladder sight on my 45-70 Cowboy Marlin. Dixie Gunworks replacement sight for the 1873 Winchester.
