Do I have to buy a dedicated FCD for crimping 6.5x55, Or can I use the one from the 243? Or??

The case length is specific to the cartridge so you do need a 6.5 X 55 die for correct length, case neck and body diameter. Using a die of the same caliber but shorter case length can be done by shimming with washers, but is a real pain.

DLCTEX is correct. It's an apples or oranges situation.

Thanks! That was what I thought but felt it was worth checking.

Yep, diam and length specific. But a really nice tool.

The Lee FCD for rifles are a must for my CB reloading. I am a relative noob to rifles but as I use self-made expanders that will leave a slight bell on the case mouth if not addressed this tool allows a controlled crimp of the boolit. My rifle reloading is done on 5-stage presses so it is easy to add these fine tools to the mix. I was quite surprised that Lee had a FCD for my Marlin 308MX in stock yet not listed on their site. A search showed it and a week later I had it in hand.

The rifle (fingered collet) FCD is even better if you lock it down tight at max crimp and hone a bevel on the crimping jaws so it imitates a roll crimp. Unfortunately, I don't think Lee makes one for a 6.5mm anything. Just use the roll crimp if you need one.

It may not fit but you could possibly use a 6mm on 6.5mm by placing the case in from the TOP. It is a PITA.
