Is commerical buckshot the same composition as commerical lead shot? Thanks

It varies. Chilled or magnum. Magnum can have up to 5% antimony. Chilled may have 2%. Useful stuff either way. Ballistic Products buckshot has 6% antimony.

It is now virtually impossible to find common lead buckshot, that is, pure lead buckshot. Since the invention of magnumitis, most buckshot is now hardened, buffered, or both, and frequently the shot is plated as well. Sizes are now nominal, so be sure to check actual diameters, (and roundness), especially depending on manufacturer.
