Go to the auto store or Harbor Freight and get a spindle mounted (non flap) conditioning wheel like these ...

Fit the size to your pot. I did this pot in about 15 minutes. Wear a mask!

I use these and wire brushes on my drill,works good.

I have been known to run my pots thru the blast cabnient with coarse sand it dosnt take long and dosnt remove alot of metal from the pot. A plus to the blast cabnient is that everything is contained. Wear protective gear if using mounted wheels wire brushes or such.

I use wire brushes and it's hard to beat boiling water also.

Why not just fill it w/ water, all lead removed, and boil it off? It works really well.
