Great review Hunter. I actually purchased a Mustang back in 88 for my wife to carry in her purse. It's a great little gun.

I often carry the Government model as a ccw. Accurate!

I had a .380 Government Model...

In a fit of stupidity, I sold it...

I have regretted it since...

The Mustang would be one thing I would have a hard time walking away from if I found one now...

I've owned a Mustang +ll since the early 80's and it has been CC'd more than any of my other pistols. It is accurate, reliable and it just disappears under a t-shirt. That is until recently when I got my m&p shield. The shield has taken over until I need the uber concealment and can accept the weaker .380 round. I just love the little guy and would never sell it. And it is all steel which is a plus in my book. The shield is my first composite pistol and I like it, but composite still bothers my old fashioned brain.

Got two of the Government Pocketlite's several years back from a friend. Both NIB unfired at the time. One of them is still that way...other one is now officially, "used":-D. Didn't really know what I was getting at the time, but just couldn't pass up the price and the Colt name. Glad I did, because I've come to love the gun. Son has a Walther PPK and mine not only outshoots his, but is so much more comfortable to shoot.

I like everything about the gun for its intended purpose but the retail price.
