Anyone have any suggestions for some shotshell loads for a 450 marlin?

I'm betting I could just use some recipes out there for 45/70.

I'd like to use what I have on hand. Unique or Universal and some 7 1/2 or 8 shot taken from a 12g shell. Just something for little critters inside 30ft.

I've got a hole punch that I can make cards with. Can I just make them from the thick back sheet of a notebook?

Dean, I wish you luck.

Back when I had a Marlin in .45-70, and before I messed up my shoulder (dang four wheeler), I tried a 2½" .410 through it. Result was a serious donut pattern at about twenty five feet. After that I didn't bother making any shot loads with .45-70 brass.

In my experience, this is one of those ideas that sound better than they are.
