Is it just me, how dumb do you have to be????? Rural Texas, truck, and they didnt think to check for a gun. Hello I mean I can see some robber trying that here in Chiraq where most SUV's never drove on dirt, but rural Texas? These guys need to be put up for the 2013 Darwin Awards.

yup, by statute our vehicle is the same as our home,,, weapons be legal..
Why on earth would someone think to try this cr@p in Tejas???
For heavans sake, we have trouble having folks keep things holstered in rush hour much less being harrassed by some goofball.
YOU GUYS REMEMBER THE HOME INVASION OF THE GRANDMA LAST YEAR??? SHE CUSSED AND WHUPPED AND SHOT THE POOP OUTTA THAT GUY AND WAS STILL WOUND UP WHEN SHE CALLED THE POlice.

Yep, those fellows didn't know Texas very well. Their approach probably would have worked in Austin, maybe DFW, perhaps Houston. Doubtful in San Antonio, definitely not in small town Texas, like Columbus is.

Good deal! I'm glad to see that the video is not being released or the brother that survived might be on the next Rolling Stones cover.

I am a sixth generation Texan and it is true we have a heritage of independence and self reliance. We are also diverse and have our full share of idiots, cowards, liberals, dope heads and assorted criminal types.

Texas has always enjoyed projecting the myth, but the reality is often very different. Lots of people in Texas don't have guns close at hand.

Too bad the 2nd one didn't die...but then again, maybe a little mind torture might be in order. If the kid has any type of mental capacity, he'll be able to think on the, if they hadn't done what they did, his brother would still be breathing.

If only we in my country had the right to protect ourselves.

Your right to protect yourself is as valid as ours. Your government is not the source of your rights, no matter how they infringe. Remember that.

You don't need any kind of permit in Texas have a concealed weapon in your Car,Truck Bike as long it is out of sight. If you can legally own a gun.Salute the law makers of the great State of Texas on this one.

Right after the media event in Florida a month or so back that the media covered like crazy, a woman in Houston, getting gas at a conviencie store was confronted by a man. She didn't ask any questions, just shot him. Didn't see much about that one either.

Lets hope a few more end up like this. As a Mainer my brother moved to San Antonio 38 years ago from his stories this doesn't suprise me.

Back in about 83 or so, i was stopped in the biggest baddest roadblock I had ever seen on interstate 10. they were looking for two guys that had shot a deputy in Mcamee IIRC.

I saw on the news the next day that they didn't find them alive, the two perps had made it south of the interstate and tried to steal an 86 year old ranchers pickup. He didn't know who they were and probably didn't care, but called leo to come pick up the bodies.

These things happen in rural areas all over the country, but don't get a lot of attention usually.

Kinda goes with the saying, "Mess with the bull, you get the horns." Unfortunately for these and other ne'er-do-wells, not all bulls show their horns, and sometimes the "cows" have horns too!

It's too bad this will never make big time news. All the good things, people saved, crimes stopped and people protecting themselves with guns gets swept under the rug.
