Does anyone know what size berdan primer goes into the russian surplus brass cased "match" ammo in 762x54r. seems all I can find for primers is the .217 and thought the brass cased Russian 54r was bigger?
anyone know for sure?

Russian 7.62x54R cases have .254" Berdan pockets. The last time that size was imported was about 1980, when the former owner of the Old Western Scrounger brought in some from RWS. RWS is supposedly still making them, but nobody has brought them in.

TulAmmo is importing two types of .217" primers made by Murom in Russia, KV24N for 7.62x39 and the KV762N intended for full power cartridges such as the 7.62x51. The Russians also make .254" primers. You might want to bug TulAmmo to bring in some .254" Berdan primers.

There are two types of Berdan primed 7.62x54R that used .217" Berdan primers: all Albanian and very early Bulgarian.
