There was a yellow or orange button on the right side of the page that said "buy now with 1-click". Then I opened kindle after a few minutes and found the icon.

foesgth,
Thanks for the heads-up. I've been wanting that book for a while.

Nanuk,
Go to the Amazon link posted above, click on the "Buy Now" link.
Once you buy the book, it will be delivered to you electronically.
Make sure the price is 0.00, before you click "buy."

Technically, you're "buying" the book, for $0.00.

Once you "buy" the book, open your Kindle Reader and click on the "Gunsmithing" book icon to finish downloading and to open the book.

Good luck.

Not trying to be the wet blanket here guys, BUT, if this turns out to be a mistake and the author is being ripped-off, please post that information here as well.

It's way beyond copywrite, definitely no problem with it.

This is directly from Amazon, so I don't think there is any ripoff involved. Amazon offers free Kindle books every day and also many for .99. You can sign up for the Amazon Daily Deals email through an Amazon account. One just has to sift through the romance novels to find the few jewels.

Amazon responded to my rant with an option... might be too late though

but it seems the Publisher is the one who decides which Country to sell to.

Now I need to turn my rant onto the publisher!

Already up to$31.

I reckon if it was raining banana splits, I'd be stuck out in it with a rubber fork...

You are in Canada and are not allowed to download free books. I have run into this before.

A word about the free Kindel books.

They have been stripped of all graphics.

Photos, Charts, Tables, Graphs. Anything that is not text will be missing.

I am sure there are exceptions to this but I have not found one in 30+ free downloads.

Google books has several gunsmith listings. http://books.google.com/
Many are partial previews (if the title is still available) but they also have full scans of a couple of million out of copyright and public domain titles.

I work in the Michigan State University library. Google is in the middle of a deal with us to scan a lot of agriculture material. Between us and Purdue - Google will have most of the early farming works published.
