Any one playing with one. Tripped over one when I was out this weekend. Will be a month before I will have spare change if it is still there. So give me the good and ugly low down.

Jeff, Warren says that the current Smith revolvers are the best they have ever made. I have seen and heard of a few rough looking barrels getting out, but those ought to be easy to spot.

No experience with a 657, but I had the blued steel version of it. It was a wonderfully accurate 6" Model 57. It would make gallon milk jugs dance at a 100 yards from a sitting or prone position. Sadly I let it go, but I still have my service Model 58 in .41 that is still very accurate and powerful enough for me. My favorite load duplicates the old 210 gr lead SWC police load that my department issued back in the day. I use Unique powder with an RCBS 210 SWC cast from COWWs for about 900 fps to duplicate that load. While I never hunted with the .41, the police load dropped injured livestock like a bolt of lightning.

I'd certainly pick it up if you can.
