About 1969 I bought one of the then new B-Square tap wrenches that floats up nd down in a rod held in the chuck of the drill press. I am still using it and have never broken a tap or bugger a hole since I bought it. They are a little pricy, but 38 year later the price has been forgotton and the wrench soldier's on.

A great gizmo for the gunsmith.

Weird. I was just looking at one of those in the MidwayUSA catalog. . . .

I don't know if it's a B-Square or not, but I've had one since the early '70's; great tool!@ I also have a floating die stock, bored one end for 1" dies and the other 13/16", floats on a long arbor with a Morse #2 taper to fit the tailstock. I use both on my lathe all the time.
