Does anybody have any experiences with the percussion mini's? Where do you get projectiles? Afriend told me about them yesterday, pretty cool! Are they safe to carry concealed? I would assume hammer on an empty chamber.

.

They can be safely carried with all chambers loaded, since the Companion's cylinder has "safety" notches around the cylinder rear that accept the nose of the hammer (away from a cap) and keep the cylinder from turning until the hammer's cocked.

Cabela's has the boolits, although mold can be had for self-casting: http://www.cabelas.com/product/North-American-Arms-Cap-and-Ball-Caliber-Grain-Bullets/739874.uts

While safe to CCW, your State or municipality may require a carry permit.

Even though it's not a cartridge arm, it's still considered a concealed weapon, and dangerous at that.

Their black widow in 22mag is a good gun. The little slits between the cylinders keeps the hammer locked in place for carrying. I wouldn't hesitate on buying one they are very unique.

For slaying mice, or just entertaining yourself. There is a long running thread on one of the forums, possibly the 1858 Remington one, about these guns. There is a lot that can be done with them if you feel adventurous as far as making them rather powerful. But the main attraction is they are cute, fun to play with, well made, and not too expensive.

Good enough reason for me. Don't really need a reason do we?

I have been toying with the idea of getting one of these. Seem like a fun little plinker or small game gun. What is the normal powder load? I would think ball or conical would be around 40 gr give or take a few.
