45 Colt brass can be used to create 450 Adams brass by severe trimming of Colt brass' overall length. What are efficient, modest technology methods to do this?

450 Adams ammunition, and revolvers chambered specifically for it, were manufactured between about 1868 and 1885. A modest charge of black powder was the propellant. Can a safe 450 Adams cartridge loading be created using Hodgdon's TiteGroup®? Since TiteGroup® is very easy to ignite, uses small charges, and can be safely used to create 45 Colt ammunition whose operating pressures are safe to use in black-powder-era Single Action Army Colts, I suspect 450 Adams TiteGroup® ammunition is feasible. Using its OEM bullet weight, what TiteGroup® charge would emulate 450 Adams factory ammunition's ballistics?

For trimming, how many cases? The Harbor Freight 2" mini chop saw makes quick work of cutting cases, especially if you make some sort of wood block for holding cases.

Remember when you cut the Colt brass, you will need to inside ream so bullet will fit.

I would feel much safer using TrailBoss.

trailboss was way i went when creating a box of .44 British bulldog ammo for a retired dentist and gun nut a few years back. trimmed some old .44 specials back and actually lathe turned some heels and hollow based the slugs we used.

Greetings
Last time I looked Starline had some caliber .45 Schofield... much less triming. But then you wouyld have to buy 250. You could also look into 45 Rimmed ( that 45 ACP Rimmed cartrige).
I would call Accurate powders. They were very helpful to me with a 50-95 and 44 Russian.
