I like old molds! Was at a gun show this morning and picked up a Lyman SC # 22596. It is a flat nose and appears to be a GC design. Couldn't find any reference to it in any old Lyman manuals I have. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.

According to the earliest Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook I have the 22596b is a round nose 50 grain gas checked bullet. It uses the 415 top punch. Hope this helps.

The one I have casts and weighs 51.8 grains with the GC. It's a FN design and looks to be the forerunner of the Lyman 225415 except a few thousandths shorter. Shoots pretty well in my .223 and .22 Hornet./beagle
