Looks like a great project. Self designed or ? Do you have a write up on what you have done so far?

If you get it done this winter, I have a place we can go about 900 yds. If we go at an angle, about 1200.

Like to see the locking lugs in the receiver. And how did you broach the bolt races or are they just cutouts on the front ?

Also what material?

Inquiring minds want to know. More pics would help.

44 Rockwell on the receiver-4140....bolt is 4340 at 46rc. firing pin is 4340.everything else is 4140 with rc from 42 to 46 depending on part. BTW rifle has been test fired 9 times now. I am finishing the muzzle break this week. I have a steel scope mount to machine and then she gets paint. The last two test rounds were shot from a bench without a muzzle break sitting down.... NOT recommended

I have one of these almost finished. Just need to have the small parts heat treated. I like your grip, might have to change mine.

Ok, the pieces looked good, but how bout a glance at the whole thing? Here you go- Scope was just used to align the mount. It will NOT be used for the final end project.

Wow! How much does something like that cost? For all the parts and heat treat?

I lucked out and found a guy who had the barrel made already. I gave 300 for the barrel and he threw in the 4140 for the receiver and the 4340 for the bolt. I have another 100 or so in the rest of the material. The heat treat with shipping was $98. Paint kit was $38-buttstock pad was???. Barrels usually run around 5-600. You could probably build one for $750 if you shopped around and found a good deal on a barrel??
