I got around to slugging the barrels of two recent purchases, both are 380's. One is a Ruger LCP and the other is a Sig Sauer P238. The Ruger slugs at .357 & the Sig at .355. So much for keeping it simple with one round fits all. My next step is to load up a couple of dummy rounds to see how the Ruger will do with a RCBS 38-90 sized to .358 as far as chambering goes. I’ll also be pulling these to make sure that the brass isn’t sizing down the slug. The same goes for the Sig.

I don’t plan on shooting these all that much, but will probably stat of running a hundred or so rounds through each to get a feel for them.

My question for those who have found themselves in this same boat is how do you do to mark your rounds to keep from mixing your different diameter rounds?

I'm "lucky" and only have one .380 - a walther that slugs at .355 and handles .356 boolits without leading. I'd suggest you go with two different boolits - the ranch dog 358-100 is excellent and MiHec has a group buy going for a hollow point (can get solid pins too), which I am on as I have a 'thing' for his molds.

My Sig 238 is also .355, and it will not chamber .358. Conveniently it's my only .380 at the moment (though that will likely be changing in a few months).

When I have 2 different loads for the same caliber, I use a fairly simple method of keeping the ammo separate, either boxes or zipper bags with labels describing what they contain.

Buzz64, I'm also in that Miha group buy. His molds have become kind of addicting.

I'm going to have to settle at .357 on the LCP and see what happens Keeping the boolit at .358 won't allow the cartridge to chamber. I kind of saw that coming. The P238 seems to like .356, but not the .357.

For the time being I'm going to to keep both loads separate and also mark the primers with two different color sharpies so there are no mix ups at the bench.

When I picked these pistols up it was a package deal. I really like the feel and sights on the Sig and think the LCP may be moving on in the near future.

You might sell the LCP after shooting the Sig as it seems way easer on the hands. The wife shot both the TCP and LCP (just 2 mags each) and liked the TCP so we got it. After a range session of 50 rounds she no longer liked shooting it and went back to her .22 pistol. Now with her Sig a 200 round shooting session is common for here, and if she had her way it would be more. I have to limit how many rounds we take as she thinks if we have them we need to shoot them lol.
As for the barrel issue both of them had different dia. bore BUT .358" would fit (chamber) them both. Also for us 45/45/10 works well with the 100gr Ranchdog boolit with a few grains of Red dot under it.
Good luck and have fun shooting.

I'd flip the lcp & latch on to the sig. Lee102 @.356 tumblubed.
