Hey guys and gals....I have an old S & W 29 that has nickeled finish....after years of duty carry the finish was dull......after some research I found out that Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish restored the finish to like new.....If you have a nickeled finish gun I would recommend this product in its maintenance.....very easy to use....very little elbow grease needed!

Hmm, ill have to check that stuff out! Thanks for the tip

Have you found that bore solvents like hoppe's 9 contribute to dulling? I heard/read that so have been using break free CLP for cleaning my m19 nickel. I didnt have the heart to just 'try and see' what the harsh solvent would do to the finish, so i made the switch to CLP without really knowing if it made any difference.

Seems that you have provided a possible remedy for my situation! Thanks

Hoppes #9 will nor hurt the finish unless left on for a time. Clean off the Hoppes right away. If left soaked in Hoppes, the nickel will be removed. CLP is fine for nickel.

Absolutely 100% correct, which I learned from bitter experience...charlie
