I shot some reloads provided by a friend that contained 5.5 Unique and a 124 grain lead round nose bullet. No problems.

5 gr. Unique with a 125 RN (120 gr. actuall) works fine. Never took it to 5.5. Currently run 4.5. Accurate and cycles.

Faster means lower in a handgun, you might want to consider Dropping the charge a smidge, maybe 4.7 grains to raise the POI. In a conventional handgun, the time the boolit spends in the barrel while the gun recoils affects POI greatly. Slow, heavy bullets will hit higher than fast light ones. Failing that, a shorter front sight or a 122-125 grain boolit may be required to get you what you want.
