Picked one up cheap from my local shop.I am more of a of 32 ACP pocket pistol guy but the price was right.it is the same as the LC9 9mm gun but the magazine is blocked for shorter 380 rounds. The springs are lightened accordingly for the less recoiling Kurtz(its not a blowback gun so the spring aint all that keeps the slide from lodging in your forehead).Recoil is very soft and my wife has no trouble racking the slide. Not a bad one for a lady(or man) not needing a super small gun that is also easy to handle. When my Erik Ohlen HP for the 380ACP arrives i'll report back in with lead loads.

A shooting friend showed up a week or so ago at the range with one and it looked like a nice pistol. Funny how the guide rod drops at an angle when the slide comes back.
He had no problems with it--and may I add-- the pistol was scary accurate.

A locked-breech 380 ACP, then? Very nice. I once had one of the Colt Government Model locked breech 380s, and a locked breech 380 is a VERY tractable shooter indeed. You can also load and fire full-value/Euro-level ammunition without concern about wear and tear on blow-back stop surfaces.

Tried to talk my wife into one. She likes shooting my nines but just can't rack the slides consistently. I like that 380 a lot didn't get to shoot it but it felt good in the hand, was very smooth and handled well.

It's amazing the difference between the recoil in a blowback gun and locked breach. I bought a PPK clone off a friend thinking it would be more pleasant to shoot then my Keltec or LCP because of it's 24 oz weight. If anything both the LCP and Keltec were more comfortable than the PPK! I think the LC9 with spare LC 380 springs would be a neat gun. Load down to .380 specs for plinking and have the ability to use full house 9's if you chose to.

I agree with fecmech, blowback guns recoil a lot more than the locked breech
guns. Even the 6 oz P3AT is not much worse than a PPK, which ways 4 times as
much !

Curious that you said "same as LC9 but mag blocked for .380". AFAIK, these are VERY different sized
guns, like about 2/3 scale LC9, and mag is made specifically for .380, unless I am thinking of a different
Ruger model, I have handled both and they are certainly not the same gun.

You're probably thinking of the LCP.

Lcp and lc are different platforms like pat I noted.

Bill take a look at the Ruger site. It appears that Ruger just re sprung and chambered the LC9 to .380. Overall dimensions are the same.

If I can just get my Ma and sister to carry, I think this may be a good choice for them.
its a ok looking gun too, that may sweeten the pot.

OK, that's why I was surprised, so this is a big .380 ---- glad I asked if I was thinking of a
different gun. I'll check out Ruger's site.

Learning every day.
