I have seen another thread asking the same but did not want to hijack it.

I have a S&W M&P OR with 1/8 twist.

55g-62g pills would work. Not particular on the mold yet as I don't know which one I am looking for yet.

Willing to trade "Stock" AR Mil spec stock and foregrip, Pure lead, Jacketed bullets or mention items you may be looking for and I will see if I have it.

I don't need many. Just enough to test cycling and some accuracy.

If you have a mold that works well in a AR please post even if you don't have boolits to trade.

Thanks Jon

Hi jon, 7/26/13

I cast and reload for my LMT CQB carbine with a 1:7 twist. I'm using a heavy boolit, the Noe molds 70 grainer with 23 grains of 4064 which runs at 2200 ft/sec. I'm not particularly happy with the cycling with the full power buffer spring as I've had three failure to feeds (breech over the base of the cartridge) in 170 rounds. I've installed a reduced power buffer spring and need to retest.

The other problem is that the long nose forward of the driving bands is shearing off when firing. This shows up as two holes in my boolit recovery media (soaked paperback books) placed ten feet from the rifle. This is with water dropped alloy of 2.2% antimony and 0.4% tin with the rest being lead. I'm presently going to add more tin and maybe some copper to toughen the alloy. If I had to order a mold again I think I'd get one with less nose in front of the forward-most driving band. It is a lot of work to cast for .223/556 when you can order FMJ bullets for $0.12 each ( I just got in a thousand) but it is handy to be able to have a source of boolits whenever the next shortage hits. Good luck.

best wishes- oldandslow

I am just starting out with .401 and .356. I have cast a number of 1oz 12g slugs. I have some WW alloy coming next week and well start knocking out some .40 cal and .356 as long as the size right.

I have other items to trade. Just posts things you need or want and I will see if I have it.

I was guilty of buying things I never used for my AR's! :)

It's the Lee 356-125g round nose. The non tumble lube version.

Cool! 50 would do the trick I think? Just curious is the HM˛ 225-62-1 gas checked and what do you size them to??

I should have my WW alloy today or tomorrow to mix with the pure lead I have so I should have some to send your way in a few days at the latest.

Thanks for the offer Grampa243 it's is a big help without finding out the hard way that a mold/boolit type does not work in your gun.

they are checked with 338RemUltraMag's aluminum gas checks and sized to .2255 and lubed with Ben's Red.

Sounds great. I am still waiting on my alloy to arrive. It is stuck at the Forest Park IL sort facility?

USPS is not what they once were.
