View Full Version : How does Hornady stack up against RCBS for cast boolits?

I have read the recommendations for the RCBS Cowboy dies for the 45 Colt..... but how about the Hornady Custom Grade New Dimension Nitride 3-Die Set, or the Hornady Cowbody 45 Colt set? Any reviews or users of those?
I do love my New Dimension Nitride dies for my .357 boolits... but I'm all new in the .45 world.
I'll be loading for a Peacemaker clone of some sort as soon as I select one.
The Hornady Cowboy and New Dimension sets are $16 less than the RCBS as well, but will either work just as well?
I didn't see anything in my search for Hornady in the cowboy loading topics, other than a suggestion that the Nitride dies might overwork the .45 brass, since it sizes more than the cowboy dies, but I do like the New Dimension seating sleeve.

I have both the sets RCBS and Hornady I use them both. Hornady more often, no complaints with either. 16 bucks is 16 bucks for something else you need.
